About the Hall
The North East has been producing funny people for generations, but we have never been particularly good at keeping the paperwork. So Felt Nowt started the North East Comedy Hall of Fame to celebrate the people and institutions that shaped comedy here, and to make sure their stories do not quietly disappear into a cupboard somewhere.
New inductees join the Hall year by year. Some took North East comedy around the world. Some built the stages, scenes and opportunities that let everybody else get started. Some are technically not people at all. We considered making rules about that, then decided it sounded like unnecessary admin.
