Darlington singer Julie Rayne began her professional career in Bobby Thompson’s revue The Merry Magpies. She went on to decades of cabaret, international touring, radio and television work, including appearances in Stars and Garters.

Her early recording career also produced an unusually long song title: Green With Envy, Purple With Passion, White With Anger, Scarlet With Fever, What Were You Doing in Her Arms Last Night Blues? Her biographical accounts identify it as her fourth record and credit it with a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest song title.
