Albert Burdon
Actor and comedian

South Shields-born Albert Burdon moved from the provincial revue circuit to the West End when C. B. Cochran selected him for Ever Green at the Adelphi in 1930. Film work followed, including It’s a Boy in 1933.
Roy Hudd described him as a master of physical comedy. Burdon continued performing into the 1950s and died in 1981, aged 80, after a career that had taken him from local stages to London theatre and the cinema.
