Wee Georgie Wood

Jarrow-born Wee Georgie Wood built a performing career lasting around fifty years, moving between music hall, pantomime and film. His small stature and unbroken voice helped him make a speciality of playing children, a stage identity he maintained into adulthood.

He also has an unexpected place in Beatles history: John Lennon names him in the spoken announcement at the end of Dig It on the Let It Be album.
