Frank E. Franks
Music hall comedian

Frank E. Franks was a Hebburn-born music hall and pantomime comedian who also appeared on screen in Music Hall Parade and Cavalcade of Variety. His name survives in theatre records, including those of Darlington Hippodrome.
A former pitman, he is remembered as performing into his seventies. He is also credited with two Royal Command Performances and a generous pantomime custom: admitting children whose families could not afford tickets free of charge.
