Frankie Burns
Stand-up comedian

Tyneside stand-up Frankie Burns built a long career in clubs and music halls, with performances spanning from the 1960s into the 1980s. One surviving glimpse of his act comes from a 1965 advertisement for Vaux beer.
Filmed at Pennywell Comrades Club in Sunderland, the advert shows Burns entertaining the audience before leaving the stage to share a drink with sports commentator Kent Walton and the other customers.
