Bobby Pattinson’s comedy career stretched across nearly 70 years, earning him the affectionate nickname ‘the Godfather of North East Comedy’. He combined performing with running the Talk of the Tyne club, which he opened in 1978.

His contribution to the region extended beyond the stage. A longstanding fundraiser as well as an entertainer and businessman, he was recognised as a Freeman of Gateshead for that work.
