Alan Fox

Alan Fox, from South Shields, was a classic joke teller with a laconic, laid-back delivery. His record label billed him as the ‘Rolls Royce of Comedy’, a tribute to the timing at the heart of his act. His career took in theatre bills, summer seasons and cabaret.

Comedy continued in the family through his grandson Jack Fox, who has spoken about the influence of Alan’s long professional career.
